PROJECT GOALS:
Consolidated was retained in December 2016 to conduct community listening sessions, and assess repairs to the existing high school. The School District needed to evaluate costs/benefits of repairs vs. replacement, and determine their community’s vision for the future. Our Capital Maintenance Planning process confirmed the need to replace the high school, and focus groups confirmed the community’s support. The School District chose to combine their two buildings their master plan is to ultimately create a new PreK–12 campus.
The combined facility features a “school within a school” concept, using shared spaces while separating elementary and high school students. Features of the new facility include secure entrances, multi-purpose commons and gymnasium space, purpose-built space for Special Needs students, and collaborative spaces for 21st Century learning needs.
