No sector of the construction industry has been impacted more in recent years than office and commercial buildings. Because of the COVID-19 outbreak, architects and builders have been forced to reimagine how workplaces will look, perform, and feel going forward. The big question: how can our working environments best support in-person and remote working, and physical distancing, without compromising productivity and a sense of well-being and belonging?
‘Resimercial’ design (a mix of residential and commercial features to make employees feel at home in the workspace), videoconferencing provisions, and workstation neighborhoods are likely to play a key role, both in new construction as well as renovating existing spaces.
